Women's Hockey Keeps Rolling

The UW women's hockey team downed Minnesota State-Mankato 2-0 at La Bahn Arena on Friday afternoon.

Erika Sowchuk scored at the 14:31 mark of the first period to put the Badgers up 1-0.

Alev Kelter tacked on another early in the third period to seal the deal for Wisconsin.

Alex Rigsby was stellar in net once again for UW, recording 14 saves for the shutout.

UW out-shot  Mavericks 39-14 in the contest.

With the win, the Badgers improve to 6-3-2 overall and 2-2-3 in the WCHA. The two teams wrap up the series Saturday afternoon. Faceoff is set for 2 p.m.
